Terrorism HAMAS: IRAQ MUST ESTABLISH A SUICIDE ARMY
Posted by Anonymous on Wednesday, December 31, 1969 (18:00:00) (384 reads)

An article titled "Iraq Will Triumph, by Allah's Will" by Hamas spokesman Dr. Abd Al-Aziz Al-Rantisi, was posted on the Hamas movement's website.[1] In the article, Al-Rantisi called on Iraq to establish a suicide army that would accept all Jihad warriors, so as to halt the impending attack on the country.
The following are excerpts from the article:

The Western Crusaders Will Meet Their End Against the Islamic Nation

"I still maintain that in spite of the tremendous [military] Crusader buildup in the Gulf, the war on Iraq is not the most likely scenario, and that in the shadow of the venom of the blind Crusader hatred disseminated by Bush, all options are [still] open. But if war is at the gates, is the triumph of this Crusader oppressing aggression certain? I don't think so. I think that the West's arrogance will lead it to its sure end if it is determined to act with aggression and terror against the Islamic nation, and that its first defeat will be in Iraq."

"This defeat has several levels, the lowest of which is the failure to achieve the goals of the aggression, and the highest of which is the military defeat on the battlefield. In order for Iraq to achieve the great, longed-for victory, it must prepare all the strength it can for this battle. The most important qualities of strength are: being helped by Allah, and truly and faithfully relying on Him."

"Iraq does not need the Arabs' help. The Arabs are helpless right now, and they think that the smartest thing for them to do is surrender. They cannot help themselves. How, then, will they help Iraq? 'Those whom you call besides Him have no power to help you, nor can they help themselves' [Koran 7:197]."

Posted by Patriot on Friday, January 10, 2003 (22:26:22) (414 reads)

WASHINGTON - Preparing for possible war against Iraq, the Marine Corps has taken the unusual step of stopping all Marines from leaving the service for the coming 12 months, officials said Thursday.

The decision was announced to all Marines in an internal message Tuesday from Gen. James Jones, the Marine Corps commandant. He said it applies to active-duty as well as reserve Marines and is effective Jan. 15 through Jan. 31, 2004.

Iraq REPORT SUGGESTS MISSING U.S. PILOT ALIVE IN IRAQ
Posted by Patriot on Friday, January 10, 2003 (11:41:38) (443 reads)

WASHINGTON (CNN) # The United States in recent months has received another intelligence report suggesting U.S. Navy Capt. Scott Speicher is alive in Iraq, but intelligence sources emphasize they have not corroborated the information and have nothing to indicate it is accurate.

The report closely parallels that received in the past but has never been verified, sources said Friday. Intelligence generally has indicated Speicher is alive and has been moved among various locations in the 12 years he has been held in Iraq.

North Korea NORTH KOREA PULLS OUT OF NUCLEAR TREATY
Posted by Patriot on Thursday, January 09, 2003 (22:03:24) (383 reads)

SEOUL, South Korea (CNN) # North Korea has announced its withdrawal from the nuclear non-proliferation treaty, according to the official North Korean news agency monitored in Seoul.

But the secretive communist state said it has no intention of developing nuclear weapons, despite the pullout.

"The government of the Democratic People's Republic of Korea in a statement today declared its withdrawal from the nuclear Non-Proliferation Treaty (NPT) and its total freedom from the binding force of the safeguards accord with the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA)," the official KCNA news agency said.

Note: They state they will not develop nuclear weapons?! Haven't they admitted to having nukes already? Talk about it here.

Iraq BLIX: IRAQ HAS VIOLATED UN SANCTIONS
Posted by neverquit on Thursday, January 09, 2003 (13:33:12) (444 reads)

By EDITH M. LEDERER, Associated Press Writer
UNITED NATIONS - U.N. weapons inspectors said Thursday they have not found any "smoking guns" but have discovered that Iraq violated U.N. sanctions by importing parts for its missile program.

Mohamed ElBaradei, head of the International Atomic Energy Agency, complained that his inspectors haven't been able to conduct private interviews with Iraqi scientists who may have knowledge of Iraq's weapons of mass destruction programs.

"We are not able to have interviews in Iraq in private and that does not show the proactive cooperation we seek," ElBaradei said after briefing the U.N. Security Council on the progress of inspections and assessments of Iraq's 12,000-page weapons declaration.

Chief U.N. weapons inspector Hans Blix told the council that Iraq has not made a "serious effort" to respond to his request for the names of Iraqi scientists who were involved in weapons of mass destruction programs. But both men stressed that the inspections process needs more time.

"The absence of a smoking gun and the prompt access which we have had so far, and which is most welcome, is no guarantee that prohibited stocks or activities could not exist at other sites, whether above ground, underground or in mobile units," Blix told the council.

Iraq THE ROAD TO BAGHDAD VIA TEL AVIV
Posted by neverquit on Wednesday, January 08, 2003 (19:50:16) (403 reads)

Large American contingents, airborne and heavy mechanized divisions, Marine task forces, aircraft carriers, helicopter fleets and hospital ships are speeding to jumping-off positions around Baghdad.

The US is expected to launch the coming war against Iraq with parachute drops on Baghdad, together with commando landings in the city from the Euphrates and Tigris Rivers.

A large-scale force will meanwhile encircle the Iraqi capital, while a mighty tank force dashes north from Kuwait and Qatar, bypassing the southern Iraqi Shiite cities of Najef and Karbala and circumventing the Iraqi army defending Baghdad. Those tanks will join the encircling force.

Terrorism THE ROOTS OF MUSLIM RAGE
Posted by Anonymous on Wednesday, December 31, 1969 (18:00:00) (401 reads)

Long, but worth the read. Bookmark it, read it every now and then. Excellent, highly respected source. And prophetic, from September 1990!

IN one of his letters Thomas Jefferson remarked that in matters of religion "the maxim of civil government" should be reversed and we should rather say, "Divided we stand, united, we fall." In this remark Jefferson was setting forth with classic terseness an idea that has come to be regarded as essentially American: the separation of Church and State. This idea was not entirely new; it had some precedents in the writings of Spinoza, Locke, and the philosophers of the European Enlightenment. It was in the United States, however, that the principle was first given the force of law and gradually, in the course of two centuries, became a reality.

United Kingdom TERROR SUSPECTS, POISON SEIZED
Posted by dleeny on Tuesday, January 07, 2003 (10:56:51) (429 reads)

LONDON, England # Six terror suspects are being questioned by police after traces of one of the world's deadliest poisons, ricin, were discovered at a London address.

Scotland Yard said the six men of north African origin were arrested after an operation by the anti-terrorist branch in north and east London.

A spokesman said "equipment and materials" were found at an address in Wood Green in the British capital where one of the men was also arrested.

A woman who was also arrested has been released.

Ricin is twice as deadly as cobra venom and is derived from the seeds and pods of the castor bean plant and may be inhaled, ingested or injected. There is no known antidote.

North Korea NORTH KOREA: 'SANCTIONS MEAN A WAR'
Posted by Patriot on Tuesday, January 07, 2003 (09:28:41) (431 reads)

Note: 'Recent' history shows us that when a country is desperate they will do desperate things. Japan was economically desperate before WWII, Germany was 'nationally' bankrupt or beaten down with no national pride prior to WWII, a result of what were overly harsh post WWI treaties. North Korea is very much desperate now, in many ways.

WASHINGTON (CNN) # With international pressure mounting against Pyongyang's decision to resume its nuclear program, North Korea said Tuesday that economic sanctions against it would amount to an act of war.

Terrorism THE COUNTERTERRORIST MYTH
Posted by neverquit on Saturday, January 04, 2003 (23:14:14) (371 reads)

A former CIA operative explains why the terrorist Usama bin Ladin has little to fear from American intelligence.

by Reuel Marc Gerecht JULY 2001

The United States has spent billions of dollars on counterterrorism since the U.S. embassy bombings in Tanzania and Kenya, in August of 1998. Tens of millions have been spent on covert operations specifically targeting Usama bin Ladin and his terrorist organization, al-Qa'ida. Senior U.S. officials boldly claim-even after the suicide attack last October on the USS Cole, in the port of Aden-that the Central Intelligence Agency and the Federal Bureau of Investigation are clandestinely "picking apart" bin Ladin's organization "limb by limb." But having worked for the CIA for nearly nine years on Middle Eastern matters (I left the Directorate of Operations because of frustration with the Agency's many problems), I would argue that America's counterterrorism program in the Middle East and its environs is a myth.

Peshawar, the capital of Pakistan's Northwest Frontier, is on the cultural periphery of the Middle East. It is just down the Grand Trunk Road from the legendary Khyber Pass, the gateway to Afghanistan. Peshawar is where bin Ladin cut his teeth in the Islamic jihad, when, in the mid-1980s, he became the financier and logistics man for the Maktab al-Khidamat, The Office of Services, an overt organization trying to recruit and aid Muslim, chiefly Arab, volunteers for the war against the Soviets in Afghanistan. The friendships and associations made in The Office of Services gave birth to the clandestine al-Qa'ida, The Base, whose explicit aim is to wage a jihad against the West, especially the United States.

"It is foolish and wrong to mourn the men who died. Rather we should thank God that such men lived." - General George S Patton

REMEMBER 9-11
"Contemplate the mangled bodies of your countrymen, and then say, 'What should be the reward of such sacrifices?' ... If ye love wealth better than liberty, the tranquility of servitude than the animating contest of freedom...crouch down and lick the hands, which feed you. May your chains sit lightly upon you, and may posterity forget that ye were our countrymen!"
